OUR PROGRAM

 

HOW CAN WE SOLVE THIS ONGOING PROBLEM?



With the threats of prejudice, we need to make America a safer place for minorities to live. I believe this can be achieved by creating a course integrated in the school system that everyone is required to take to understand other cultures better. Students would be required to take this course once in elementary school, once in middle school, and once in high school. This is an important thing to do because when the child is younger, it is easier for them to absorb this information, and then when the child develops, he or she will have a better understanding of what is being taught. 

 

The curriculum would teach students how to accept other minority groups and understand that just because an individual is categorized under a certain group, it does not mean he or she will have all the same characteristics as everyone else in that group. The students would be free to make their own judgments and have their own opinions on the subject matter, when normally they take the same stance as their parents.
